Core GRN+GLD member Bry.Zen has finally arrived to us with his debut release for the record label. An Oregon native, known previously for his lush, synth-heavy, precise beats, on GG088 we see Bry.Zen fully realizing the transition and incorporation of his dance music influences into his work. The four track 'Liminal Wekz EP' is a masterclass in the fusion of genres and styles into a seamless whole. Footwork, acid, techno, club music, and jungle don't collide on this EP, they fuse together. Track opener "Enchante Mon Cheri" layers sampled pads, ethereal strings, & footwork patterns, then tops them off with a beautifully iconic Janet Jackson vocal and an acid bass line. Following up right behind, Bry.Zen flips Khia over high-speed, yet laidback four to the floor stomper. Hot on its tail we have "TrapHouse23" weaving club music, 303 lines, and breakbeats together, all at breakneck speed. Perfectly encapsulating the thesis of the EP, Bry.Zen sends us out on a masterful touch with "watapieceofacid." Ripping acid lines, classic club and ragga vocals, juke drums, four to the floor sections, and more all culminate into a furious jungle/breakbeat climax. The 'Liminal Werkz EP' is an honest to goodness dance music classic. Cutting edge, with heartfelt reverence to every genre his touch graces, Bry.Zen steps through the threshold as a force to be reckoned with.
